Our client, is recruiting for a Digital Engagement Officer to be responsible for managing and developing digital communications for the organisation.

The role requires a communications all-rounder who will focus on delivering engaging and impactful digital content to our mass alumni audience both in the UK and abroad, as well as bespoke digital content (photos, videos, microsites etc) to major donors.

·  Duration: 14 weeks

·  Hours: Monday-Friday, full time

Job Description:

·  Create an engaged community of alumni and supporters - understanding their needs and delivering content to increase both engagement and community size.

·  Lead on strategy and communications plan for key international audiences, including plans for WeChat.

·  Manage web, email and social media for Fundraising & Supporter Development (F&SD) communications.

·  Manage content to ensure it is timely, regularly updated, accurate, and fully-proofed and meets high standards.

·  Responsible for creating content for social media and planning this content well ahead of time.

·  Generate content ideas and new, innovative, ways to use digital content in various forms to engage our audiences.

·  Work with communications team colleagues to implement editorial plans.

·  Build strong inter-team relationships with key members of F&SD team to ensure our digital communications help to drive our fundraising and engagement targets.

·  Ensure websites, email and other digital communications are technically sound and adequately tested before they are published.

·  Analyse and report on digital communications performance and works towards continual improvement of communications based on insights.

Skills/Experience:

Essential

·  Educated to A-Level standard

·  Basic photo editing skills (preferably using Photoshop).

·  Strong technical & CMS experience, including HTML skills.

·  Enthusiasm and passion for digital communications.

·  Professional standard of writing, editing and proofing including knowledge of writing for the web.

·  Excellent grammar and written English.

·  Understanding of web usability and accessibility best practices.

·  Analytical: Monitoring progress against targets, applying knowledge to improve performance of communications.

·  Highly organised; able to prioritise effectively to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

·  Experience of digital marketing campaigns and projects.

·  Understanding of and interest in social media.

·  Experience interpreting website and social media statistics.

·  Writing for digital communications: email marketing, blogs, social media.

·  Strong team working: willingness to work hard and where necessary attend commitments outside normal office hours.

·  Strong interpersonal skills, relationship builder and natural negotiator.

·  Creative self-starter, full of ideas and able to convert ideas into reality.

·  Ability to use initiative to work independently, as well as to work effectively as part of a team.

·  Commitment to quality: high standards and attention to detail.

Desirable

·  Working on communications plans to engage international audiences.

·  Understanding of how to use digital communications for fundraising.

·  Knowledge of the higher education environment.

·  Basic video capture and editing skills.

·  Undergraduate degree.
