To recover unpaid payments; this can include individuals and businesses. The candidate will be responsible for looking after their own work.

When dealing with payments the credit controller must be aware of the implications on both clients of non-payment / late payment.

To chase debtors for payments via email, telephone and letter.

Processing credit/debit card payments.

Negotiating payment plans when clients are facing financial difficulties

Individuals will need to take a pragmatic approach to the role remembering at all times that there is a legally binding agreement which obligates they pay in full and on time.

Communication between Landlords and tenants and also the management centre, in respect of late payment financial struggles and maintenance issues.

Updating cases with notes

To maintain brand standards

Liaising with other departments when necessary to resolve internal queries.

Persistent approach towards debtors, remembering to be polite and professional at all times

Ability to use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office programmes

Professional telephone manners and skills.

The use of a bespoke system

Good numeracy skills and the ability to clarify financial matters clearly

Good negotiation and communication skills

The ability to be assertive and remain calm under pressure

Good time management skills
