We are currently recruiting for an Approval and Quality Assurance Officer, start ASAP, duration 3-6 months with the possibility of the role going permanent, this role is working from home, pay £16.48ph-£19.23ph, hours Mon-Fri 35 hours per week.

The purpose of this role is twofold. First, to assist in the smooth delivery of our higher/further education approval and quality assurance processes (including quality assurance visits and information reviews) of GOC-approved optical qualifications.

Second, to provide support for our Education Strategic Review (ESR) and Continuing Education and training (CET) project teams, helping to draft documentation, protocols and standard operating procedures, as well as helping our teams organise and document stakeholder meetings.

We are looking for someone who has experienced of working in higher/further quality assurance /accreditation, ideally within an professional association or chartered body, a statutory regulator or in a higher education quality standards body. If you also have experience of organising or administering a professional body or regulator's CPD scheme within a you will be well placed to work across all three teams, supporting the development of our new CPD scheme we plan to introduce in Jan 2022.

You will have fantastic drafting, writing and editing skills and be superbly well-organised. You will bring your expertise in education quality assurance/ programme accreditation and CPD (desirable) to contribute to the development of our new standards for approved qualification (our ESR), including drafting guidance for education providers and the process for evaluation, ensuring that current legislation and best practice is continually reflected.

You will also attend meetings and provide support to our non-executive team of education visitors. You will need to be confident in your analytical skills and able to make evidence-based recommendations regarding any notifications of changes that providers may submit. Advise on relevant process and standards, act as secretariat to the quality assurance visit team, complete follow up reports of the visit within agreed timescales and analyse data and risks.

Key duties:

·  To provide support to our approval and quality assurance teams when they visit (remotely) providers of our client approved qualifications in accordance with our client quality assurance framework and operational handbooks.

·  Liaise with education providers to ensure that documentation and evidence is produced when required, before or after visits to providers.

·  Attend visits (remotely), facilitate and act as secretariat to a variety of meetings so that the visitor team can interpret standards accurately and are fully supported to develop appropriate conditions and recommendations for education providers.

·  Produce evaluation reports following visits, including all necessary conditions and recommendations, contribute to the design and implementation of ongoing monitoring processes so that progress of recommendations and conditions are tracked, and reporting arrangements are established, identifying and escalating any operational and/or legal risks.

·  Analyse data to identify and escalate any operational and/or legal risks and produce ad-hoc reports and information to a range of stakeholders including internal colleagues, senior management, education providers, education visitors and our client Committees.

·  Ensure that queries and issues raised by education providers, patients and the public on matters related to education outcomes or process are effectively resolved, involving Head of Functions and other colleagues as required.

·  Provide support to the design, drafting, editing and implementation of key deliverables (such as policies, standards, protocols, risk registers, meeting notes, SOPS, etc.) for two strategically-vital education projects (ESR & CET) supporting 2x project managers as part of a supportive and forward-looking team, to meet project plans and timescale, respect of processes and policy development.
