Journeyperson Plumber

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
·  Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
·  Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
·  Responsible for all plumbing related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
·  Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all plumbing systems
·  Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to plumbing
·  Ensure all work done in the plumbing department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations
·  Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions
·  Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business  
·  Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues
·  Assist other trades as they relate to plumbing maintenance
·  Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
·  Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
·  Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
·  High school and/or technical school education required
·  Provincial Journeyperson’s certificate for Province of Alberta required
·  Background plumbing experience or general knowledge of the trade required
·  Gas Fitting Ticket an asset
·  Valid Alberta driver’s license required    
·  Excellent communication and organizational skills
·  Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
·  Highly responsible & reliable
·  Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
·  Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
 
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
·  Standing: 4-8 hr/day
·  Sitting: 4-8 hr/day
·  Walking: 4-8 hr/day
·  Bending/reaching: 4-8 hr/day
·  Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day
·  Physical effort: high – must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
·  Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside

 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
