Fitness Instructor cum Animator 

 

Fostering the health and wellbeing of our guests, visitors and Colleagues is an integral part of our Fairmont Hotels & Resorts culture. As a Fitness Instructor cum Animator, your warm service and knowledge of all our Health Club facility has to offer will support our guests and members in their commitment to healthy living. The main role of this position is to create more entertainment and activities around the resort for kids, adults and families.

Hotel Overview:   Ideally situated on the Arabian Gulf in Ajman, UAE, the newly built Fairmont Ajman has opened May 2015. The hotel close proximity to both Sharjah and Dubai airports. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings, a multitude of dining options and fitness facilities. The beachfront location offers guests a wide range of leisure activities including water sports and diving as well as access to shopping and cultural excursions. Event planners can take advantage of 2,000 square meters of indoor function space as well as outdoor facilities.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the SPA & Recreation Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

·  Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
·  Conduct Private Fitness Classes
·  Demonstrate how to carry out various exercises and routines
·  Watch clients do exercises and show or tell them correct techniques to minimize injury and improve fitness
·  Give alternative exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness and skill
·  Monitor clients’ progress and adapt programs as needed
·  Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations on sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment
·  Give clients information or resources about nutrition, weight control, and lifestyle issues
·  Maintain the weight and cardiovascular fitness areas; ensuring equipment is clean, functioning properly and used according to the guidelines of the facility
·  Instruct guests in use of equipment and provide basic fitness information
·  Maintain attendance records and ensure all guests have registered in the facility
·  Assist in promoting the facility and organize special events as required
·  Create new activities and entertainment for guest around the resort e.g. fun activities, group activities, kid’s activities, games, movies, Yoga etc.
·  Support and ensures the daily activities such as but not limited to Volleyball, Football, Aqua exercise, water polo, and badminton
·  Follow departmental policies and procedures
·  Follow all safety and sanitation policies
·  Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

 

 

· 
Adhere to Pool, Beach, Fitness center, Kids Club and other resort Policy & Standard Operating Procedures Manual .

· 
Maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the entertainment facility.

· 
Maintain accurate records as required by hotel and government regulations.

· 
Create Monthly activity list.

· 
Attend weekly/monthly facility operations departmental communications meeting.

Qualifications:

·  Previous experience in a Health Club preferred
·  CPR and First Aid certification preferred
·  Excellent communication and organizational skills
·  Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
·  Highly responsible & reliable
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
·  Previous experience in a Health Club preferred

 

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to): 

·  Frequent walking and standing throughout shift
·  Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
·  Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
·  Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
·  Frequent walking and standing throughout shift
