(Temp 3-6 months) Production Technicians / Quality Inspectors / Administrators

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Manufacturing Singapore is a nutritional manufacturing plant situated in Tuas, Singapore. We manufacture nutritional milk powder for babies to adults and supply to several countries especially in the Asia Pacific region.

We are looking for temporary contractors to join us immediately in various positions such as Production Technicians / Quality Inspectors / Admin etc for 3- 6 months to supplement our current workforce.

Work Environment:

• No makeup, jewelry, nail polish allowed in GMP area
• GMP gowning is required. Comprises of hairnet, plant jacket and bottom and plant shoes
• No mobile phones allowed
• Plant jacket has to be removed when using toilets that might be located at a distance away
• Safety PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as helmet, gloves, safety glasses and reflective vests are required (except certain positions)

Positions Available /Description - Shift Work & Non-Shift Work:

*Shift- Work Required Positions*

Requirements:

• Able to work 12-hour shifts preferred (7.30 am to 7.45 pm, 7.30 pm to 7.45 am); 2 morning shifts, 2 nights, 3 days of off/rest; followed by 2 morning shifts, 2days of off/rest, and 3 nights shifts. 
• Ability to operate simple machinery through use of touch panels
• Able to read and understand instructions in English
• Able to use computer
• Physical work - carrying and lifting of loads varying from 12 kg up to 25 kg
• Able to commit immediately (preferred) OR from May 2020

a. Packaging Technicians

• Loading of shippers, can ends, scoops and overcaps into packaging lines
• Manage finished goods. Need to handle weights of up to 15 kg
• Collection of samples
• Material handling using Hand Jack
• Weigh and dispense material
• Cut and removes packaging materials and manage waste disposal to centralized bins. 
• Area and equipment cleaning

b. Process Technicians

Bulk Ingredients Charging

• Operate hoist system to connect 500-1000kg ingredients bags and charge into system
• Perform charging of ingredient bags (up to 25kg) into system (require carry, cutting of bags, and charging ingredients into system)
• Verify ingredients code against documentation and perform system transaction using barcode scanners
• Area and equipment cleaning
• Perform weighing and dispensing of ingredients using weighing scales and transaction in the system.

Wet Processing

• Perform charging of ingredient bags (up to 25kg) into system (require carry, cutting of bags, and charging ingredients into system)
• Verify ingredients code against documentation and perform system transaction using barcode scanners
• Connecting hoses to system pipelines and to ingredient tankers and totes
• Operating walkie stacker to transfer ingredient totes (500kg) from floor to unloading stations

c. QC Inspector

QC (Packaging)

• Sampling of finished products (cans or pouch) from the production line. 
• QC inspection on finished products.  E.g. coding checks on the cans, pouch, or shippers. 
• Checking labels on ingredients and packaging materials prior to use in the production line. 
• Perform simple QC testing such as Residual Oxygen testing, weighing of cans or pouches and Leak testing using simple instrument. 

QC (Process)

• Collect powder samples from equipment through sampling ports
• Dissolve powder product into liquid milk based on written instructions
• Perform testing using various equipment (training will be provided) and document the results.

d. Materials Handler

• Material Handling in the weigh dispense preparation area
• Move material using hand pallet jack
• Cut and remove raw material outer bags
• Carry 25kg bags
• Collect empty bags and plastic covers for disposal
• Perform area cleaning
• Read and write simple English
• Forklift experience preferred but not mandatory

*Non-shift work positions*

Requirements:

• Able to read and understand instructions in English
• Computer literacy
• Able to commit immediately (preferred) OR from May 2020

e. QA Inspectors (5 day week; working hours 8.30am to 5 pm.  May need to work on weekends on Overtime basis, up to 6 to 12 months contract)

• Sampling and testing of ingredient and packaging material  
• Cleaning and sanitizing of Sampling room after sampling activity
• Review the data accuracy of COA as per specification
• Result entry into SAP

f. Receiving Office Administrators (6 day work week; working hours : 1) 830am to 5pm OR 2) 3pm to 12midnight; up to 3 months contract)

• Attend to Driver arrival
• Visual inspection of goods delivered
• Record details of receipt information
• Data entry into SAP
• Contact and coordinate with various department on collection of goods from warehouse
• Filing and office housekeeping
