Objectives:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of assays within a family (disease state), multiple technologies, multiple clinical utilities and Abbott systems.
  • Uses technical knowledge to acquire, analyze and interpret data. Arrives at timely conclusions and proposed next steps.
  • Participates in experimental design and utilizes appropriate experimental techniques, statistical tools and resources to identify solutions.
  • Proactively anticipates and prevents technical problems from impacting product.
  • Applies advanced computer and data management skills.
  • Manages / leads multiple expanded investigations applying six sigma tools for root cause identification. Identifies and implements effective corrective actions to address root cause.
  • Manages / leads multiple design control projects.
  • Routinely participates and mentors/teaches change control.
  • Understands change control impact on design / validation of products and/or processes.
  • Mentors / teaches others knowledge of operations to facilitate timely resolution of product / process technical issues.
  • Independently interacts with external customers and resolves issues

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Maintains certifications / qualifications in assigned job responsibilities.
  • Coordinates and executes experiments / tasks for timely completion and takes responsibility for the accuracy and quality of documented results.
  • Routinely provides technical information to documents such as DHF, VMP, FMEA to ensure product history is maintained.
  • Understands and influences achievement of financial and performance metrics.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education /Skills/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 6+ years of experience in a related technical discipline. Advanced degree(s) may offset required years of experience.
  • Preferred experience with Fluorescence in situ hybridization and/or Alinity m platform
