JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Receiving Inspection Supervisor is responsible for managing daily operations of Receiving Inspection for Structural Heart Business Unit and providing leadership to department inspectors and technicians.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Duties include:

Provide daily supervision, work direction and on-the-job training to staff.
Develops and maintains a competent work group through effective hiring, communications, recognition, performance feedback and development.
Monitors, directs and prioritizes staff workload to assure internal customer schedules are met.
Ensure all policies and processes are followed and monitor compliance to appropriate regulatory standards.
Contracts staffing as necessary to meet department objectives and identified demands.
Contributes to establishing department goals, objectives and accountabilities.
Contributes to developing and maintaining the department spending budget.
Recommends, justifies and acquires measurement equipment and supplies to meet department objectives.
Advises planning for department resource needs.
Provides routine department status updates to management.
Monitors inspection procedures for effectiveness.
Effectively communicate with and provide support to other departments as necessary.
Motivate team to achieve results.
Foster a department culture of continuous improvement.
Identifies and drives continuous quality improvement and lean processes in the area of responsibility.
Provides staff interface and technical support of internal audits and inquiries.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) Technical related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Quality inspection knowledge, technician or engineering experience required. Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485. Strong communication and leadership skills. Prior medical device experience preferred. ASQ certification or equivalent preferred. 

Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. The ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
