JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated individual capable of working with project managers and teams to manage the project lifecycle for company's products and services involving functional teams focused on the delivery existing products. Independently manage complex, long-duration projects required to transition products manufactured by Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs) from IVD-Directive to IVD-Regulation compliance.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project management systems and process being examined, including integrating internal and external best practices and benchmarking data

  • Works with Core TPM product team such as Program/Project Managers to plan the project, draft project reports, process flow determination, system data analysis and transaction testing.

  • Supports project execution which may include identifying tasks, tracking project schedule, and identify/manage risks and issues, and independently executing assigned tasks.

  • Begins establishing and cultivating a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks.

  • Participates in special projects as they arise.

  • Provides Divisional support as it relates to project management tools and software.

  • Manages all project management software/tool requests, including access, licensing, report sharing, troubleshooting, etc. with minimal oversight.

  • May exercise authority within pre-established limits and approval.

  • Independently manages own work load by balancing multiple tasks/projects, prioritizing work based on criticality and urgency, and completing tasks on time.

Position Accountability / Scope

  • Receives infrequent direction; and provides work directions for other technical personnel.
  • Identifies, understands and resolves technical problems and operational issues.
  • Anticipates and avoids reoccurrences by utilizing appropriate project management tools.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of product or process design, Develops, tracks and reports on all key project deliverables.

Qualifications:

Education:

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree

Major/Field of Study : Related Field

Education Level: an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience/Background:

Experience: Minimum 2 years

Experience Details:

  • Related work experience with a basic understanding of specified functional area.
  • General knowledge and basic application of business concepts, procedures and practices. 
  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment. 
  • Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with government regulations. 
  • Learns to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems. 
  • Works on problems of limited scope. 
  • Minimal independent decision making.

Preferred Experience & Education:

  • Working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment with project management skills as this provides a good foundation for this job function.
  • Basic understanding on PMBOK core competencies and Project Time Management
  • Experience with IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) Device and/or experience with EU IVDD regulations and submissions.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed team environment
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
