JOB DESCRIPTION:

World Leader in Blood Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care, a division of Abbott Laboratories designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings.

We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the manufacture of Freestyle products used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities.

As a result of strong business growth. We have an opportunity for Production Engineers to join our Operations Group.

You will be responsible for Production Engineering activities within ADC UK operations.

  • Responsible to maximise the effectiveness of the manufacturing equipment through continuous improvement projects,
  • Working closely with Operations and maintenance personnel ensuring equipment is optimised and suitable to produce medical devices.
  • Identification and implementation of cost reduction projects.
  • Improved utilisation and reduction of waste.
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Providing technical support and training
  • Analysis of process data

You will be working predominately in a clean environment providing technical expertise to fault find, maintain and continually improve bespoke PLC-controlled automated equipment and processes.

To be successful, you will need experience of Engineering within a manufacturing environment, specifically experience and skills in problem solving on high volume and high-tech equipment. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishing your objectives, working proactively, and managing your own time effectively. As we operate in a highly-regulated industry, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow procedures and create accurate documents and records of your work. Experience with the following would be an advantage: commissioning and validation of equipment, change control, CIP and Solid works or AutoCad. Due to the bespoke nature of our equipment, in-house training will be given.

You will need to have completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or have a higher education qualification (such as a HNC, HND or degree) in a related subject.

This position will be working Monday -Friday office hours.
