JOB DESCRIPTION:

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Operates the finished goods palletizer, the slip sheet dispenser, the pallet loader and the stretch wrapper and performs minor adjustments to the equipment.  Required to be able to set-up and load the associated equipment. Accurately inputs batch information into Cambar, affixes tags to designated pallets of manufactured goods, and maintains inventory count records.  Enters the batch count into the Cambar system assuring accuracy for product trace ability and audits. Verifies batch quantity between Cambar System and computerized warehouse systems – troubleshoots any discrepancy.  Running queries, verifying counts and RECO problems. Operates forklift truck in performance of duties.  Requires obtaining a forklift license and completion of daily equipment inspection.  Complies with all pertinent GMP and SMP requirements.

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

Responsible for operating the finished goods palletizer and the equipment associated with it. Responsibilities include the control of quality and simple machine adjustments where applicable. Will clean palletizer and associated equipment, including conveyor lines and overhead nets through the warehouse. Provides accurate accounting of finished product processed through the palletizer. Accurately inputs batch information into Cambar, affixes tags to designated pallets of manufactured goods, and maintains inventory count records. Enters the batch count into the Cambar system assuring accuracy for product trace-ability and audits. Responsible for performing GMP - Pull Case Conveyor Daily Area Checklist. Responsible for putting away palletized product in the warehouse.

Accountability

Material Control is responsible for the total material function at the Altavista Plant including planning and procurement, receiving, storage of all inbound items and their movement through the plant; production line support; production scheduling; palletization; finished product storage; distribution; MRO/stockroom procurement and computerized documentation of the above activities.

Qualifications

This position requires a high school degree or technical college computer operations courses.   Being mechanically adept with a good mathematical background is highly desirable. The individual must be self-motivated and possess the ability to perform with minimum supervision. Person must be adept at dealing with people under high pressure and in a constantly changing environment. Forklift operation including high stacking of finished product. Palletizer operation including conveyors, slip-sheet dispensers, and pallet dispensers. Stretch wrapper operation. Mainframe navigation and data entry in AMAPS. Verbal Instructions Read & Write Follow Simple Written Directions Add, Subtract, Multiply, Decimals, Divide, Fractions Reading Gauges & Instruments.
