JOB DESCRIPTION:
Medical Science Liaison, R&D
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The primary function of Medical Science Liaison, R&D, is to be the scientific subject matter expert of Adult Nutrition presenting nutrition science to internal and external stakeholders.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a scientific resource to commercial partners as appropriate to support activities such as medical/nutrition congress staffing, advisory boards, and training initiatives.
- Builds and manages relationships with external key opinion leaders (KOLs) aligned to business needs and manages the KOL engagement plan and KPIs.
- Prepares the marketplace in new areas of interest, which includes creating awareness and relationships for Abbott in the medical community.
- Inputs and maintains internal reports as it relates to activities in the area of responsibility.
- Works with internal stakeholder to develop and execute a plan designed to support and meet shared business objectives.
- Supports the medical and commercial team with any other ad hoc activities that are required by the business.
- Serves as a medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers through answering clinical questions and addressing other clinically related medical information issues. Education RD with MS or PhD Degree - In human nutrition Experience/Background Minimum 3 years - Clinical practice; experience in academia/industry/post-doc.
