We are looking for an intern to join our Marketing and Communications department for the Structural Heart division for 6 months.

As a Marketing & Communications Coordination Intern, you support the department with campaigns, tools, congresses, meetings & events to drive business results.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understand brand guidelines and provide support to affiliates to produce brand-consistent congress & meeting materials.
  • Develop a strong insight and understanding in communication channels, formats (tools & tactics) in terms of impact, target audience, pro’s and con’s, limitations and whether they fit within the strategy.
  • Track and analyze what the competition is doing in terms of product communication and corporate communication.
  • Coordinate the process flow between external parties and multiple departments in order to execute in the most efficient way (developing briefings, timelines, development and execution of communication tools & tactics, follow-up of production)
  • Support co-ordination of internal e-mail campaigns and newsletters
  • Support highly sales enabling communication tools supporting our sales force. Create and execute other marketing tactics specific to the needs of the selling division.
  • Support and guide affiliates and distributors in communication efforts for local events and congresses.
  • Embrace and champion marketing communication best practices and processes.
  • Work with other departments to manage content through proper Regulatory, Quality and Legal reviews in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Marketing Communications.
  • Provide support and drive the adoption of the Abbott iPad sales tool.
  • Manage projects within deadlines & allocated budgets or propose cost-saving measures where appropriate.
  • Identify process improvements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Complies with regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Education & Competencies

  • A Masters or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, English or Equivalent.
  • A passion for working in the healthcare industry and an entrepreneurial, take-charge, change-agent spirit are wanted.
  • This individual must have ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment and must be able to work in English.
  • Able to apply strategic thinking, as well as attention to detail.
  • Strong process-minded thinking and acting
  • Customer-oriented attitude with strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Team player
  • Proactive attitude and hands-on mentality – result driven
  • Flexible and eager to stay on top of the new developments in communication and branding
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and respect deadlines
  • Fluency in English, any other language is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive personal computer skills including demonstrated spreadsheet, word processing and database management capabilities are required.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment and be capable of juggling multiple priorities and many demanding stakeholders with minimal supervision.
