Position Title: Financial Analyst

Location: Lake Forest, IL

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located in Lake Forest, IL. The position provides financial/business planning, reporting and analysis support to the sales and marketing groups in the US Cardiometabolic Business Unit.   

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly support the Regional Sales Directors to help assess sales performance /metrics
  • Establish, maintain, and control financial planning processes to deliver meaningful and comprehensive Plans and LBEs, assuring compliance with Division requirements.
  • Play a leadership role in identifying trends/risks/opportunities in sales and P&L forecasts.
  • Monitor the calculation of Gross to Net Sales for actuals and different planning scenarios.
  • Expense budgeting - develop expense budgets and track actuals performance vs plan/forecast
  • Sales forecasting/planning – assist in facilitating product level forecasts/plans and distributor trend / performance analysis
  • Preparation of Quarterly Business Review presentations.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and administration of business plans, marketing promotions, distributor pricing agreements and other contractual support
  • Provide margin analyses, price/volume analyses and insight into sales consumption and shipments.
  • Facilitate development and improvement of management reporting systems in order to manage, target and track the performance of the national sales team
  • Ad hoc financial analysis - development and reporting of key sales, financial and operating metrics which support strategy and business operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong business acumen is required with the ability to highlight key business trends
  • In-depth understanding of financial analysis techniques and the ability to work effectively across 
    multiple functions of the organization
  • Strong analytic skills, conceptual thinking, ability to analyze and problem solve with incomplete or ambiguous data
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use sound judgment 
  • Effective planning skills and very strong demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to strengthen strategic knowledge of businesses and identify opportunities to leverage best practices and ensure decisions are based on overall effectiveness and utility
  • Develop and enhance processes and procedures to operate and effectively manage sales reporting 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 2+ years of business analysis/FP&A experience
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to present financial data and concepts to management and non-financial personnel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales finance and/or marketing finance experience recommended
