JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Job Function

This role will be responsible for developing strategies and leading transformational projects with key Enterprise Account customers to develop new programs and processes to drive improvements and management of Abbott CV inventory managed via distribution centers. The position is responsible for providing direct leadership, and developing, leading and executing one or multiple programs that will optimize Abbott's growth, profitability and working capital objectives.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic initiatives and programs to oversee complex, comprehensive network strategy and design transformation including standardization of work activities, operating model to qualify and prioritize network projects, establish a cross-functional network strategy governance – change management review board, and integrate cross-functional, regional, and group decision making to optimize outcomes.
  • Interface and collaborate with senior leaders and their staffs within a matrix organization such as supply management, customer service, sales operations, marketing, sales on a regular basis.
  • Identify and work with staff to create partnerships with key IDN operational executives, distribution center leadership and hospital leadership to develop champions within the distribution centers
  • Works with business leaders to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience as well as support profitable and sustainable growth
  • Responsible for developing collaborative working relationships with key Enterprise Account customers to develop collaborative solutions to improve customer and Abbott processes around operational processes
  • Responsible for driving transformational results via influence with across all functions, regions and businesses; Develop strategic and executional plans for cross-functional and multi-BU projects that are transformational and drive process improvement.
  • Role will require partnership with Global Supply Chain Continuous Improvement team to ensure alignment with key supply chain KPI's
  • The job function includes developing, advocating, and enabling business partners with tools and methodologies to identify and improve processes that not only drive operational excellence but also achieve Abbott corporate KPI's
  • Analyze and monitor inventory performance ($, turns, weeks of supply, inventory health) to alert the larger organization for short term actions and identify longer term improvement opportunities
  • Design and manage highly complex reports to prepare, summarize and present to senior level management and key external customers reporting accuracy, delivery performance & other key metrics to assess performance, modify production plans & assess/prioritize focused improvement efforts.
  • Drive for cross-functional continuous improvement in systems and supply chain activities from forecasting, warehousing, transportation, inventory management, replenishment ordering, and our customer's receipt of goods.
  • Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Professionally manage Abbott's partnership with our significant domestic IDN customers.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Work in a highly complex, matrixed organization to project manage all IDN Distribution Center projects and initiatives with Enterprise Accounts, Global Supply Chain, Sales Ops, Finance, Sales and External Customers.

Position Accountability / Scope

  • Reports to Director of Strategy, Enterprise Accounts
  • Dotted line to Key EA Field Directors
  • Role will be based out of Austin or Minneapolis

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or matching relevant experience in Planning Operations
  • MBA preferred

Minimum Experience/Training Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with attention to detail; leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills required
  • Advanced knowledge with MS Excel, SAP, Business objects and PowerPoint presentations
  • Project Management skills (PMP) an advantage
  • Strong quantitative & qualitative analysis skills, including a comfort working with large data sets
  • Knowledge of distribution, logistics, warehousing and transportation in a highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with remote sites & business partners
