Our location in Sylmar, CA, currently has an opportunity for a   Associate 1 Product Development Technician .   This position provides laboratory specific administrative support to the Research and Development Laboratory.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· 
Responsible for coordinating and tracking all incoming lab requests. Including, sample receipt, sample tracking, sample disposition and sending final reports to requestor.

· 
Responsible for coordinating a variety of lab duties:

· 
Ordering, inventorying, tracking, and disposition of lab chemicals and supplies.

· 
PO’s and tracking of services such as external lab service, contracts, equipment maintenance contracts, etc.

· 
Responsible for certain aspects of on-boarding for new employees. Works with manager to ensure that the proper equipment is available to new employee on start date.

· 
Responsible for written correspondence at the direction of department management.

· 
Responsible for compiling data to support laboratory results metrics / trending.

· 
Responsible for logistical support of both internal and external quality audits.

· 
May assist in the creation and tracking of change requests in the document management system.

· 
May assist in additional lab related activities at the discretion of management. Activities may include: Calibration checks, review of logs, review of temperature monitoring equipment, and staging (labeling/bar coding) for sample preparation/analysis activities.

· 
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

· 
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

· 
High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 3 years:

· 
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

· 
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

· 
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

· 
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

· 
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

· 
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

· 
Ability to travel to other local locations

· 
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

· 
Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position

Preferred

· 
Associates Degree (± 13 years)

· 
3-5 years experience in administration is desired.

· 
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
